Frequently Asked Questions
Family safety. Not surveillance. Here's how FledgeNow keeps the people you love — and the friends you look out for — safe and reachable, while respecting everyone's privacy.

What is FledgeNow?
FledgeNow is a safety app built around your group — either a Family Nest (the full safety net for your family and loved ones) or a Friends Circle (a lighter way for friends to keep an eye out for each other). It keeps everyone connected with a shared location map, arrival alerts at saved places, trip alerts (in Family Nests), and one-tap SOS. It's designed for safety and reachability, not for tracking or surveillance.
How does it work?
You create a group — a Family Nest or a Friends Circle — and invite people by phone number. Each member's app keeps their most-recent location on a private map only that group can see, can alert the group when someone arrives at or leaves a saved place (like Home or School), and lets anyone send an SOS with their location. In a Family Nest it also quietly detects when a drive starts and ends, and can send Emergency Alerts that break through silent mode when it truly matters.
How does it help?
Peace of mind. You get a heads-up when a loved one starts or finishes a drive, when someone arrives home safely, and an instant way to reach them — or be reached — in an emergency, even if their phone is set to silent.
What's the difference between a Family Nest and a Friends Circle?
A Family Nest is the full safety net: a shared map, saved-place arrival alerts, automatic trip start/end alerts, at-a-glance readiness, and SOS & Emergency Alerts that can break through silent mode. A Friends Circle is lighter and peer-to-peer — a shared map, saved-place arrival alerts, and one-tap SOS — but with no trip alerts, and its SOS is a normal (non-critical) notification. Circles are great for roommates, classmates, or friends who simply want to know where each other are.
Can I be in more than one group?
Yes. You can belong to several groups at once — for example your family's Nest and a Friends Circle with your roommates. A switcher on the Home screen lets you choose which group you're viewing, while alerts from all your groups still reach you.
Is this tracking or surveillance?
No. FledgeNow shows only each member's most-recent location to the other members of their own group — never continuous real-time tracking, never the public, never other FledgeNow users, and we never sell your data. Teens connected to a group must be told what is shared; covert or hidden monitoring is not allowed.
Who can see my location, and when does it update?
Only the members of the group you're sharing with. Your location updates at key moments — when you open the app, when you arrive at or leave a saved place, when a trip ends, or when you send or receive an SOS or Emergency Alert — not as a continuous trail. We store only your single most-recent location point, not a location history. In a Friends Circle you can also pause sharing at any time to become invisible to that circle.
What are saved places and place alerts?
You can save meaningful places — like Home, School, or the gym — and your group is notified when you arrive at or leave one (for example, "Alex arrived at Home"). Alerts use the place's name only, and you can add up to 10 places across all your groups.
Can I pause sharing?
In a Friends Circle, yes — you can pause sharing at any time to become invisible to that circle (and, fairly, others in it are hidden from you while you're paused). Only you can turn it on or off. Family Nests are always-on for safety, so pausing isn't offered there.
Can I choose how names appear?
Yes. Everyone sets their own display name, so no one is labeled by someone else's private contact nickname. You can also privately rename how you see another member (for example, showing a parent as "Mom") — that change is visible only to you.
Does FledgeNow keep a history of where I've been?
No. We store only your single most-recent location, overwritten in place each time it updates — we never build or keep a location history or movement trail. The map shows a last-known point, not a path, and older points aren't retained anywhere. This is by design: we don't collect anything we don't need.
What's the difference between SOS and an Emergency Alert?
SOS broadcasts your current location and approximate street address to your whole group with one tap, along with a link to navigate to you. An Emergency Alert reaches one specific member urgently. In a Family Nest, SOS and Emergency Alerts are designed to break through silent mode and Do Not Disturb for genuine, time-sensitive situations. In a Friends Circle, an SOS still arrives promptly but as a normal notification that respects silent mode and Focus.
Does FledgeNow replace 911?
No. FledgeNow is not a substitute for emergency services. In a life-threatening emergency, call 911 (or your local emergency number) immediately.
How much does it cost?
FledgeNow is currently free to use. If we introduce paid features in the future, we'll let you know in advance and won't charge you without your consent.
What ages is FledgeNow for?
The person who creates a group (the group's admin) must be at least 18. A group can include adults and teens aged 13–17. FledgeNow is not intended for, and must not be used to monitor, children under 13.
Where is FledgeNow available?
FledgeNow is currently available in the United States. We plan to expand to additional countries in the future.
How is my privacy protected?
Everything you share stays inside your group (or groups). We store only your most-recent location (no history or movement trail), we never sell personal or location data, and we don't share it with advertisers or data brokers. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
How do I delete my account or data?
You can delete your account at any time from within the app, or by emailing ilango@eagletpip.com. Deleting your account — or deleting a group — removes the associated data.
